Enriching the experience

While the primary goal of komen.org is informing people, we do like to get a little fancy from time to time. One way to enrich the experience of the site is to get things moving a bit and allow a little interaction.

Slide shows and photo galleries are naturals for this kind of thing, and the web provides a host of great free code for making them work. The trick is implementing that code from within our content management system.

Currently, we're using Lightbox for photo galleries and experimenting with Smooth Gallery for a feature slide show. I was responsible for getting both working smoothly from within Stellent and for developing content pieces that automate the process of adding images to the Smooth Gallery* slide show.
